Elf Fantasy Fair 2012
Yesterday (21 April, Saturday) we went to the Elf Fantasy Fair in Haarzuilens.
This is an event I go to since 2006 and I still love it every year! My main reason
to go the Elf Fantasy Fair (EFF in short) is my love for dragons and the costumes.
As you may have noticed I love to photograph a lot. The EFF is an excuse to take my camera with me and take alot of photos! This year I haven't taken alot of photos, but this is because it had rained a lot. If it rains, I hardly take out my camera, because the background will be grey and gloomy and it gets wet of the rain of course. I love to take pictures with a little more color and in the sun if that is possible. Nonetheless I did take some photos. There is one photo I'm really proud of and that is a photo of an Amy Pond and the Eleventh Doctor cosplayer.
Because of a friend of mine I knew there would be a Doctor Who Cosplay group. I had to take photos and this one is the best I had. Of course I took some other photos of other costumes.
As for my other main reason (the dragons, remember?): There are quite a lot of stands with dragon statues. Yesterday I bought 3 dragons which were on sale. The stand had a sale out with 50% discount on everything. So of course I had to take advantages of that and bought 3 dragons. I wish I could have bought all the dragons there of course, but I haven't yet won the lottery. Doesn't matter, had dragons! They are purple and 1 one of them is quite big and the 2 other ones are smaller. Really, I love it!
I also organised a Picknick Meet, but that didn't go very well as it had rained almost the entire morning. The grass was wet and if you didn't had something with you to sit on, you would get a wet butt. Everybody was standing, but nonetheless somehow the crowd enjoyed themselves. After an hour my sister and my mom got back from Christopher Paolini (the writer of Eragorn) and we had something to eat. Then my mom went to Robin Hobb (another writer) and my sis and me went to the Elfo Stage to sit some more and got more food. After Robin Hobb was done talking, my mom got back and we strolled around the EFF to see the rest of it. Around 4:45 pm my mom and my sis got in line to get an autograph of Christopher Paolini. That took some time! Around 6:00, 6:30 pm they finally got one! We decided to get back to the car and go to a snackbar we go annually. That took a long time too, because we lost a friend that should have drove back with us. After we finally found him, we went to the snackbar to get something warm to eat. Of course I had to get a bloodnose aswell. Great ending of the day! Doesn't matter. In the end I got a hoopskirt, 3 dragon statues and a crownpen thing.
Driving lessons?!
Yes, I started on some driving lessons again. A couple of years ago some personal things happened and since 2009 I'm scared to drive in a manual car. I am driving in an automatic
but that's about it. To get my confidence back again I started driving lessons again. It's going well now and I feel more comfortable in a manual car. One more driving lesson and after
that one we are going to challenge myself and we are going to Amsterdam to test myself to the ultimate! ....or something xD I'm scared, because we are going in to the city itself. In the heart of Amsterdam. I already have respect for the people who are driving there and now I have to do it myself! But I can do it! I know I can! Haha xD
Anyway, it's going great now and hopefully I can drive a manual car on my own very soon.
